The Polish Society for Stereology has the honour to welcome you to the 11th International Conference on Image Analysis and Stereology in Materials STERMAT’2020 which will be held in Wisla, Poland from June 14-17, 2020.

The series of STERMAT conferences is renowned from its unique, family-type atmosphere and high scientific level. Traditionally, STERMAT has been always organized in Poland, usually in picturesque regions of Polish mountains.

The 11th STERMAT will take place in Hotel STOK **** (https://www.hotelstok.pl/en).

Hotel STOK is located in the heart of Beskid Slaski, in the picturesque Jawornik Valley, one of the streams connected to the Vistula river. This is an ideal place for any mountain lovers, with beautiful scenery and a historicaly rich place makes the hotel an ideal location for a wonderful stay. A large selection of various moutain tracks encourages anyone for a fantastic trecking adventure in the Beskid mountains.

The STERMAT’2020 conference aims to bring together academia and industry in a global forum to build collaborations and present new research in the following subject areas:

  • Application of stereology and image analysis methods in: materials science and engineering, biological materials, medicine,
  • Advances in microscopy,
  • Image processing and analysis algorithms,
  • Theoretical stereology,
  • 3D modelling,
  • Young stereologists session,
  • Free topics.

Researchers, students, experts from enterprises, teachers, and others who work on the issues of the STERMAT conference are welcome. The Stermat conference will be a forum for researchers and practitioners to present their state-of-the-art results. The goal of the conference is also to support, encourage and provide a platform for young researchers to present their research, to network within the international community of other young researchers and to seek the insight and advice of successful senior researchers during the conference.

Those interested in organizing a minisymposium should submit a proposal to the chairman of the conference no later than September 1, 2019. Organizers of a minisymposium are especially encouraged to select the topics to be addressed, obtain 4 speakers for those topics, decide with each speaker on the title of his/her presentation, and provide information to the chairman of the conference.
